Jose Luis will revisite a career in open source robotics that began over twenty years ago at the IRI, went through Open Robotics, and led to co-founding Honu Robotics. It will be a talk, part retrospective, part with personal thoughts, and part along future views on the role of open source software in robotics.

In this inaugural talk, Leonel Rozo—an IRI alumnus with a rich path across academia, research, and industry— shared his journey navigating the evolving AI landscape. From global moves to career pivots, Leonel's story is one of exploration, adaptation, and purpose.

The talk was completed with a round of one to one meeting with IRI sciectific staff and visits to IRI new premises and research groups
