IRI Alumni Talk #2: 20 Years in Open Source Robotics: A Journey That Started at the IRI
On May 19 we will have the pleasure to run a new IRI Alumni Talk with Jose Luis Rivero.

Title: "20 Years in Open Source Robotics: A Journey That Started at the IRI"

Jose Luis will revisite a career in open source robotics that began over twenty years ago at the IRI, went through Open Robotics, and led to co-founding Honu Robotics. It will be a talk, part retrospective, part with personal thoughts, and part along future views on the role of open source software in robotics.

Speaker: Leonel Rozo, Director of the Physical Holistic Intelligence (PHI) Lab at the Italian Institute of Artificial Intelligence for Industry (AI4I) Title: Navigating the AI career manifold: A personal story
Venue: Facultat de Matemàtiques i Estadística (FME-UPC), Sala d'Actes. In this inaugural talk, Leonel Rozo—an IRI alumnus with a rich path across academia, research, and industry— shared his journey navigating the evolving AI landscape. From global moves to career pivots, Leonel's story is one of exploration, adaptation, and purpose.
The talk was completed with a round of one to one meeting with IRI sciectific staff and visits to IRI new premises and research groups
